The People Behind Every Perfect Installation
A roof is only as good as the crew that installs it. At Dads Roof Repair, our team isn't just skilled — they're specifically trained for the unique challenges of Fraser Valley roofing.
Johnny Peters — Partner & Lead Estimator
Johnny Peters co-founded Dads Roof Repair with Kory Peters in 2021 after years of working for larger contractors and witnessing firsthand the shortcuts that plague the industry. Frustrated by the gap between what manufacturers recommend and what contractors actually do, they started their own company with a simple mission: do it right, every time.
Based in Agassiz, BC, Johnny Peters brings over a decade of hands-on roofing experience to every estimate. He's not a salesman who's never held a nail gun — he's worked on hundreds of roofs across every type of Fraser Valley property, from agricultural barns to luxury homes.
Certifications & Training:
- WorkSafeBC Safety Certified
- Manufacturer-certified installer (IKO, CertainTeed, BP)
- Specialized training in standing seam metal installation
- Strata property roofing specialist
When you call Dads Roof Repair, you're talking directly to Johnny or a senior team member who can answer technical questions on the spot. No call centers. No commissioned salespeople. Just honest expertise.
Our Installation Crews
We maintain a core team of experienced installers, many of whom have been with us for 5+ years. This consistency matters — it means every crew knows our standards, our techniques, and our commitment to quality.
Crew Expertise:
- Average Experience: 5+ years per crew member
- Specialized Skills: Metal roofing, strata projects, heritage buildings, hillside installations
- Safety Training: All crew members are WorkSafeBC certified with current fall protection training
- Local Knowledge: Crews live in Fraser Valley communities and understand local weather patterns
Training Standards That Set Us Apart
We don't hire roofers and send them to job sites. We train roofers to our specific standards.
Our Training Program Includes:
- Safety First: Mandatory WorkSafeBC compliance, fall protection systems, ladder safety, job site hazard assessment
- Material Science: Understanding how different materials perform in Fraser Valley climate
- Installation Techniques: Our 6-nail high-wind protocol, extended ice and water shield application, proper ventilation calculations
- Quality Control: Self-inspection checklists, photo documentation, final walk-through procedures
- Customer Service: Property protection, clean job sites, professional communication
Why Crew Consistency Matters
Many roofing companies use subcontractors or rotating crews. We don't. Our core team works together on every project, which means:
- No learning curve on your roof
- Consistent quality across all installations
- Accountability — the same crew that starts your project finishes it
- Efficiency — experienced teams work faster without sacrificing quality
The Dads Roof Repair Difference
Our team isn't just technically skilled — they're invested in the community. They shop at the same stores, send their kids to the same schools, and experience the same weather you do.
When a crew member recommends extended ice and water shield for your Hope property, it's because they've seen what happens when it's not used. When they insist on proper ventilation in Chilliwack, it's because they know summer attic temperatures can exceed 70°C.
This isn't theoretical knowledge. It's lived experience.
